Las Vegas, August 24, 2024 – Saturday evening was filled with festivity as Captain Joseph LePore of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department celebrated his retirement from the force, which officially took place in July. However, his retirement has been short-lived, as he has already accepted a position managing security in the private sector.

LePore was joined by dozens of friends and family in celebrating this new chapter in his career, and high praise for his accomplishments was a common thread of the evening. “Joe has been such a valued member of law enforcement,” commended good friend Antonio Accornero, “and with his experience as Captain of the Summerlin Area Command, his commitment to safety will only strengthen the community as he takes on his new role.”

Born and raised in Chicago, Joe LePore moved to Las Vegas in 1998 and joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in January 1999. With over 25 years of dedicated service, he held various leadership roles, including Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Joe’s most recent assignment was as Captain of Summerlin Area Command, where he led over 200 employees and developed positive relationships with the Summerlin community.
